WHAT IS DENTAL ACCESS DAYS

Dental Access Days is a Chicago area 501C3 organization whose mission is to extend dental care to people in poverty and the mentally disadvantaged. We create fully functional 8 chair 2 day clinics, staffed by local area professionals, using mobile equipment in a temporary setting.

What makes Dental Access Days possible?

Our equipment was provided by the Giving Hand Foundation from Yadkinville, North Carolina in conjunction with a seed grant from The Pankey Institute, a continuing education firm in Miami Florida.

Our funding is provided by Northfield Community Church, the St Peter Legacy in Mission Fund, Glenview Community Church, a personal contribution from Matthew Cowell for 2017, and occasional grants earned through Chicago Dental Society Foundation.

Our service providers are all local unpaid volunteers, professionally trained and credentialed.

Our supplies are both purchased and contributed. Local dental supply firms support our efforts by donating materials and supplies. These include the firms: Heraeus Kulzer, Patterson Dental, Ivoclar Vivadent, Komet USA.

Our patients  are walk-ins.  Local agencies and health departments help us reach the people most in need of our help.

Our goal?

To restore, as best as possible with a single session, the dental health of approximately 100 patients at each clinic we stage.

How do you become involved?

Its very simple – If you are a fully credentialed dental professional in the Chicago Metropolitan area simply CLICK HERE or navigate to our Vounteer page and sign up for a day of service. Our greatest need is for dentists, but we also need assistants, hygienists, and technicians.

When the day you volunteered for arrives, you simply show up in clinic appropriate clothing and go to work. The clinic is equipped and supplied with everything you’ll need.

Here’s a video provided by Rob Orr Productions to help explain what we do and learn more about the impact we have.
